When and where

My HypnoBirthing classes are arranged at a date and time to suit you and are usually held at The Centre for Natural Health in Wickford.

• The room where I hold the classes is peaceful, warm and comfortable with plenty of cushions.

• Classes are usually held at the weekend or on a weekday evening.

One-to-One Sessions

Although many practitioners teach group sessions comprised of several couples, I have found that most couples prefer the privacy of a one-to-one session. This also enables me to be more flexible in accomodating your personal circumstances.

Free book and cd

As well as the classes themselves, you'll receive:

• a professionally produced text book "HypnoBirthing®: The breakthrough approach to safer, easier, comfortable birthing" by Marie Mongan

• an affirmations and relaxation CD

• a series of weekly handouts

• email support throughout your pregnancy

all included in the price.

Course Structure

Typically the course is structured as five two-and-a-half-hour classes held at weekly intervals. However, the course structure can be tailored to suit your personal circumstances.


A basic outline would be as follows:

• Initially we learn how the body works and how fear can effect labour. We work towards building a positive expectancy of the birthing experience and learn essential breathing techniques.

• Throughout the course we will see the practical applications of what you are learning by watching DVD's of actual HypnoBirths.

• Bond with your baby now, choose your care givers and your birthing environment.

• Learn how to work with the relaxation cd, the birthing partner's relaxation script and self-hypnosis techniques.

• We work on any issues that may be holding you back from fully relaxing. This is known as a fear release exercise.

• Work on your birthing plan.

• Techniques to avoid an artificial induction of labour and ways to achieve a natural start of labour.

• The birthing companion will learn a massage technique that will help you to relax during pregnancy and labour.

• Identifying the birthing companion's role.

• Explaining how HypnoBirthing can be used at each stage of the birth.

Homework ! - listening to relaxations and affirmations daily on cd, practising relaxation scripts with your birthing comapanion and working on your breathing technique.
